ShortMaker caption styles — which works best?

I am experimenting with bold captions versus minimal subtitles and I cannot decide which style keeps more viewers watching. Bold animated captions grab attention, but sometimes they feel too busy when the background is already active. Minimal captions look cleaner, yet they may not stop people from scrolling. I would love to hear what has worked for your niche.
